    Special Notes Regarding Your Inquiry

Below you will find a brief overview of points you should keep in mind when submitting your request so that your quote can be prepared quickly and smoothly.

    Your Details

Basically, you are free to decide which information you would like to provide with your inquiry. We only require your billing address once an order is placed. However, we appreciate it if you provide your full name so that we can address you correctly.

If you are making the inquiry on behalf of a company, it is very helpful to include the billing address right away so that the quote can be prepared quickly and does not need to be amended later. For foreign (non-German) company addresses, please provide your VAT ID number if possible, so that we can issue your quote without VAT where applicable.

    Certified Copies and Apostilles

Certified copies and apostilles are separate administrative procedures and are not part of the translation process. To obtain a certified copy of your documents, you can usually contact a local notary, municipal office, or other authorized public authority in your country of residence.

An apostille is issued by a designated competent authority in the country where the original document was issued. The responsible body varies by country and may be a court, government office, or foreign affairs authority. Requirements can differ between EU Member States and the UK, so it is advisable to check with the relevant national authority to determine the correct procedure.

Languages That Do Not Use the Latin Alphabet

If you require certified translations from a language that does not use the Latin alphabet (such as Cyrillic, Arabic, Greek, Persian, Japanese, etc.), the names in the document must be provided in Latin script as shown in the passport. If this information is not supplied, the translation will follow ISO transliteration standards. In such cases, the spelling of names may differ from the passport version. However, in many instances, German authorities require transliteration according to ISO standards. Please check in advance with the relevant authority to find out which version is required in your case.

    If You Require Interpreting Services

If you need interpreting services, please keep in mind that an interpreter must attend the appointment in person. This requires organizational and logistical preparation. The chances of successfully arranging an interpreter are higher if you submit your request in good time, ideally at least 1–2 weeks before the actual appointment. In order to prepare a quote for interpreting services, we require at least the following information:

    • Where (city is sufficient) and when the appointment will take place
    • The expected duration
    • The subject area, briefly described
    • Whether you require consecutive (liaison/negotiation) or simultaneous (conference) interpreting

    Certified Translations for Use Abroad

If you need a certified translation for use in another country, please inform us in advance and, if possible, specify the destination country. In most cases, we can provide such translations. However, some countries have specific formal requirements that must be observed.

    Court Summons for Interpreters

If courts require interpreting services, we kindly ask them to refrain from sending binding summons by fax or post without a prior quote request. We will be happy to prepare a quote quickly and easily and send it by email, or by fax or post if required. We hereby expressly object to binding court summons that are not based on our prior quotation.
